Where'd You Go, Bernadette
“We were quiet for a while, and then I said, "I think my favorite part of Antarctica is just looking out." You know why?" Dad asked. "When your eyes are softly focused on the horizon for sustained periods, your brain releases endorphins. It's the same as a runner's high.”
When former legendary architect, Bernadette Fox, vanishes into thin air, her teenage daughter, Bee Branch, is determined to track her down and bring her back. Through a series of notes, e-mails, letters, phone conversations, memos, police reports and, of course, Bee's narrative we are witnessing the events that led to the circumstances of Bernadette's disappearance.
Hilarious, witty, clever, sharp, touching with great twists. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! It was one of the best books I read in 2013!
Have a lovely day!
