The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
“I walked over to the hill where we used to go and sled. There were a lot of little kids there. I watched them flying. Doing jumps and having races. And I thought that all those little kids are going to grow up someday. And all of those little kids are going to do the things that we do. And they will all kiss someone someday. But for now, sledding is enough. I think it would be great if sledding were always enough, but it isn't.”
A collection of letters addressed to an unknown recipient written by Charlie, a very shy teenager, describing his first year in high school during 1991/1992. It's actually like reading Charlie's diary... His fears, his experiences, his feelings, his thoughts, his struggles, his relationships with the people in his life.
A beautiful coming-of-age novel. Made me reminisce of my high school years. Funny and sad at the same time, brilliantly written.
Have a lovely day!
